One Piece is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation which first premiered on Fuji TV in October 1999. Since then, it has aired over 1000 episodes split in 20 seasons, making it one of the longest running anime till date. It is based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga series of the same name and follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, and his friends in search of the world’s ultimate treasure known as “One Piece” to become the next Pirate King. Talking about the manga, it is all set to debut its Chapter 1061 this week and this article might contain some major spoilers for the upcoming manga issue. So, read at your own risk!
One Piece Chapter 1061 Spoilers and Full Plot Summary
Obviously, massive spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1061 titled “ Egghead, Island of the Future” follow below, so read at your own risk. Also, check out the raw scans of the pages as they have just arrived a few hours ago.
The chapter starts where it left off, Luffy tries to save himself, Chopper and Joerley Boney , and the crew can’t do anything. Below the crew ship, there is a giant monster in the shape of a shark. Suddenly something explodes under the ship and makes the crew lose balance. In the next panel the thing that explodes is revealed to be a robot shark. The fate of the crew now rests on Franky!
In the next panel, we see a marine base located near the island where Tachigi, Giant Children, and a new character from G14 appear. Jinbe saves Luffy, Chopper and Joerley Boney from drowning while the enemy is under attack. Moving to the next panel, someone saves the crew using a gigantic robot. In the midst of all this, we see a panel introducing us to the Sword members. We see the interactions between Prince, Helmeppo and Hibari, where the latter two beg Prince to go to the pirate islands and borrow Seraphims. However, Prince states that there is nothing that they can do right now. Luffy Chopper, Jinbe and Joerley Boney are seen hiding in the cave interacting with each other.
Bony introduces himself as “one of the worst generation like you”. Jinbe asks about Boney’s crew while Luffy states he is hungry and suggests finding a restaurant. This is when Boney reveals that they are on Egghead Island and there is no restaurant here. “They call it the Island 500 years in future, vegapunks lab island”, Boney states. Luffy exclaims at that name while Boney claims to have business with him. While they’re interacting the giant robot reappears and a girl emerges out of it.
Franky thanks the girl operating the giant robot while she says, “What I told the mechasharks was to observe, report, and shoot fire. If he eats them, we won’t have the gold left. A programming mistake on my part… Anyways who says I am going to save you pirates? I am hired by the government. Dr. Vegapunk!”. That’s where the chapter ends introducing the long awaited charcater of Vegapunk.

Chapter 1061 of One Piece is scheduled to launch on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at 12:00 AM JST. As One Piece is printed in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Leap journal, a brand new chapter comes out each Sunday. Obviously, the date and time of this manga will change from nation to nation because of the totally different worldwide time zones and we have compiled a list of few of them below:
- Pacific Time: 9 AM on Sunday
- Central Time: 11 AM on Sunday
- Japanese Time: Midday on Sunday
- British Time: 5 PM on Sunday
