The classic adventure franchise of the 80’s is back once again with Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones for the fifth installment, which is being helmed by James Mangold of Logan (2017) fame. The film is currently scheduled to release on June 30, 2023 and the filming concluded earlier this year in February, 2022. Ford’s character of Indiana Jones will pass the torch to some younger protagonist to continue the spirit of adventure and lead further movies in the franchise. Indiana Jones 5 Leaked Trailer from D23 2022
Disney made it difficult to breathe at this years 2022 as it poured in a bucket lot of information on the fans of Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel Studios, and Lucasfilms. While most of the information is public, certain trailers and footages were only showcased to the D23 audience and Indiana Jones 5 was one of those trailers. But first of all, the title of Indiana Jones 5 has been revealed to be just “Indiana Jones”.
The trailer begins with the sun glowing over a desert town, then cuts to a rickshaw chase through the street. The audience sees Indy (Ford) walking across a bridge like the one in the first photo, then running across the top of a train at night, chasing a plane on a motorcycle, riding a horse and more. It’s an action-packed first look full of chase sequences, but it also features some flashbacks from a younger Indy as well as at least one major character retaliation. Sallah, played by John Rhys Davies, appears in the footage
Finally, the footage sheds light on the relationship between Indiana Jones and Waller-Bridge’s Helena, revealing that she is his goddaughter. Ford gets some big hero moments here, grabbing his hat as he leans into a motorcycle sidecar and cracking the whip in a room full of gun-toting thugs. “I’ve come to believe that it’s not so much what you believe, it’s how hard you believe,” he says in voiceover before the footage ends.
Indiana Jones 5 is all set to release in theatres on June 30, 2023.
