Every year there is a film that flies under the radar because it releases at an inconvenient time for the audience. Sometimes it is overshadowed by the craze of one film while other times it just gets lost amongst the simultaneous releases. This is what happened with The Iron Claw, a film that had raving reviews but just didn’t release at the time right time as the month of December had too many movies and limited takers. However, those of you who did watch the film know the supreme quality of the product. It was clearly one of the best films of last year. According to a new listing on dvdreleasesdates, The Iron Claw will be available for purchase on physical media formats like DVD and Blu-ray on March 26th, 2024, so mark your calendars. The film recently made its digital debut on February 13th after an exclusive theatrical run of 62 days. As it is an A24 production, we won’t be hearing for a streaming debut anytime soon.
Zac Efron appears in the role of Kevin Von Erich in the film as it is based on the true story of Von Erich brothers, who make history in the intensely competitive world of professional wrestling in the early 1980s. Through tragedy and triumph, the brothers seek larger-than-life immortality on the biggest stage in sports. Loyal Efron fans were shocked to see the actor go through such an extraordinary body transformation for his role resulting in such amazing reviews.
The Iron Claw was one of the most critically acclaimed ventures from last year. The film at the time of writing has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 89% from 220 reviews (Audience score: 94%) and an IMDb score of 8.1/10. The film was reportedly made on a budget of $16 million and has grossed $38.6 million worldwide so far, making it a huge hit and an inspiration for indie filmmakers.
The Iron Claw stars Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Lily James, Holt McCallany and Aaron Dean Eisenberg. Out of all, Zac Efron’s positive body transformation and portrayal of Kevin Von Erich has garnered praise and drawn audiences out of their houses to watch this film. This film will act as a major win for Sean Durkin’s career.
