There is no doubt Breaking Bad is one of the best pieces of cinema ever created. It is still the highest rated show on IMDB and it is something which gets better and better with each passing episodes. Ahh, I wish I could watch it for the first time again but honestly that’s not required. Its prequel Better Call Saul is as good as Breaking Bad itself and is about to debut its sixth and final season. Just like BB, it starts of slow but builds up amazingly leading to whatever’s in store for us in this final part of the sixth and final season. You can read our reviews for BCS Season 6 here.

Better Call Saul took everything which worked in Breaking Bad (which was basically everything) and created a familiar yet fresh story. As of season 5, it has introduced almost every major character who appeared in Breaking Bad. In the previous season, we saw the introduction of Hank and Steve and this made fans almost sure that we’ll see our OG’s as well in the final season. And this season Bryan Cranston’s Heisenberg and Aaron Paul’s Jesse are all set to appear, as confirmed by the producers. So, with such a connected universe, there must be some instances where Lalo Salamanca would have been mentioned or shown, right? Well, that is what this article is about.

Lalo Salamanca From Better Call Saul Spotted in Breaking Bad?

The name “Lalo” was mentioned only once in Breaking Bad when Walter White and Jesse Pinkman threatened to shoot Saul Goodman. “It wasn’t me, it was Ignacio. He’s the one! Soy Amigo Del Cartel. Lalo didn’t send you?”, is all we heard of Lalo in Breaking Bad. Well, at least he got a mention; poor Kim Wexler didn’t even get that. This screenshot below, however, led fans to speculate a Lalo Salamanca cameo in Breaking Bad.

Now there are two different theories about this screenshot. One is that the kid to the left is Lalo Salamanca as he wears the same belt buckle as Lalo did in Better Call Saul. And the other theory is that the boy is Tuco Salamanca, as he is looking a bit angry in the picture, whereas Lalo would have been charming. You can also see Hector Salamanca with the terrifying Salamanca cousins, Marco and Leonel. So, the likeliness of this boy being Tuco exceeds the boy being Lalo. However there is one more perspective to it.

As noted by certain fans, if you look close enough, you will see shadow of the person who is taking their picture. Fans believe that is Lalo Salamanca as he is supposed to be much older than Marco and Leonel than the boy to the left. So, it is highly possible that the boy in the picture is Tuco Salamanca, however the one clicking it is Lalo! Even if it is not, this is a really fun find by the fans and will surely launch multiple debates and what not.

Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 9 will air next week Monday on AMC in US and Tuesday on Netflix in UK and other regions.
