If you are unaware, The Exorcist: Believer is an upcoming American supernatural horror film directed by David Gordon Green. It’s going to be the sixth installment in The Exorcist franchise and will serve as a direct sequel to The Exorcist (1973). The film stars Leslie Odom Jr., Ellen Burstyn, Ann Dowd, and Jennifer Nettles and is about the father of a possessed child, desperate for help goes in search of someone who has had similar experiences, Chris MacNeil. Fans of the franchise have been quite desperate to know more about this upcoming installment and for them we have got wonderful news!

As you may know, CinemaCon 2023 was held a few months back and tons of updates about many upcoming projects by loads of franchises and studios were revealed. While most of them were made public, some trailers and footages were exclusive for the attendees and hence rest of the world is yet to see many of those trailer released officially. One such footage was of The Exorcist: Believer, but as it happens, it has now been leaked. So, have a look below and a description attached as well.
In the trailer, a father drops off his daughter at school; however, she and a friend go missing after school. When they are found in the woods, they seem changed and unaware that they were gone for three days, believing it’d been just a few hours. At another point in the trailer, one of the girls — covered in communion wine — walks into a church during Mass, screaming at the priest: “The body and the blood!”
Finally, the parents call upon Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn, who is reprising her role from the original film as the possessed child’s mother). She attempts to help the girls, one of whom has been carving Chris’ daughter’s name on her stomach.
The Exorcist: Believer is all set to release in theatres on 13th October2023.
