Earlier this year James Gunn announced the first chapter of DCU. The first film of the franchise was of course about Kal-El and while we’re all disappointed but quite excited to see David Corenswet as Superman, we might be forgetting that we’re also getting a new Batman in this universe. DCU’s The Brave and the Bold is a new take on the caped crusader’s story as this is his and Robin’s story. A new star is set to play the Dark Knight, so Pattinson or Affleck won’t be starring in the film. The storyline is based on Grant Morrison’s Batman run. The film will focus on Batman who is taught to be an assassin learns that Damian Wayne is his son and now he has to raise him under his wing. Other members of the Bat family are set to appear in the film as well but as far as who will play them? That remains a mystery. Well, maybe not for long as reportedly we know who James Gunn’s choice is for the Dark Knight is.

The Brave and the Bold: Who Is The New Batman?

A viral post on X (formerly known as Twitter), has seemingly confirmed that John Krasinski who played the role of Jim Halpert in The Office and cameoed as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been cast as the new Batman in The Brave And The Bold. The post reconfirms that Muschietti will be directing. One might’ve believed this rumor because it sounds so awesome but before things could get out of hands, James Gunn himself commented on this post and refuted all the rumors.

On Threads, the filmmaker posted, “I don’t know what you’re talking about but we don’t even have a script, and there’s a strike happening, so, no, no casting.” So, if you got excited like me bury your excitement as the announcement for the new Batman is a long way down the line.
