Fantastic Four Wanda Vision Director Officially Helming Movie!

Fantastic Four, according to me, is the biggest thing coming in Marvel’s slate. After many attempts to bring these characters on the big screen, Marvel has finally stepped in to give justice to these characters justice and I hope they will be able to do that. I would’ve been a lot more confident if we were talking about the Marvel three years earlier but unfortunately based on their current trajectory, I’m not confident enough that Marvel will make a great Fantastic Four adaptation. However, the Marvel fan in me still dares to hope. This project is clearly paramount to Marvel, the importance is reflected in the number of names attached to the project. At one point of time there were rumors that the greatest filmmaker of this era- Mr. Steven Spielberg might helm the project but it was too go to be true.

Finally, Marvel announced the captain of this ship- Matt Shakman, however, we know nothing more about the project. Every week or so we get new casting rumors which are completely different than the one we got last time. There are some wild names thrown around but unfortunately we don’t know whether these are just rumors or so many movements are really taking place at Marvel. Thankfully, the director himself has now come forward and addressed these wild casting updates.

Fantastic Four: No One Is Cast Yet?

Matt Shakman made a recent appearance for Collider where he was quizzed about his upcoming Marvel project. The question asked to him was in reference to all the actors names that we were hearing who are reportedly attached to the Fantastic Four project. Shakman cleared the air and addressed all these rumors and claims and declared them redundant and not accurate. Shakman said, “All the casting stuff you see is just rumors. We are early in our process there. We have nothing to announce right now, and certainly, when we do we’ll let you know.”

Shakman was further questioned about his future directorial projects and the WandaVision director claimed that he is still pretty occupied with the work he has on his hands now, “I don’t think so. You know, I’m still finishing up the ‘Godzilla’ project you were mentioning. We’re in post on that, and have a few more months on that. ‘Fantastic Four’ is pretty much my life until Valentine’s Day of 2025.” For those of you who don’t know Shakman is working on a Godzilla series for Apple TV+, once that is completed, he will begin his work on Fantastic Four.

Shakman was also working on Star Trek 4 but after the Fantastic Four opportunity came along, it was too good for him to pass. The Fantastic Four reboot is slated to release in theatres on 14th February 2025.
