Minutes after news broke about the SAG-AFTRA strikes coming to a close, Sony Pictures took to Twitter to make an official announcement that their upcoming film, Venom 3 will release in theatres on November 8th, 2023. The announcement was made on Wednesday night. This release date was previously slated by the studio for an untitled Sony/Marvel collaboration, many suspected it to be Venom 3 but nothing was official. This was a huge relief for fans as they were uncertain when would Sony restart the work on the film. However, it looks like Sony Pictures is in a real haste to get on with the film as just more than a week later this news surfaced, Venom 3 has gone on floors once again and Tom Hardy has made sure we know about it.

Venom 3 Immediately Goes On Floor After Actors Strike Ends!

After the end of Writers’ and Actors’ strike Sony’s Venom 3 has restarted the principal photography of the film after a brief stint earlier this year. Lead actor Tom Hardy shared a picture of himself and director Kelly Marcel from the sets of the film on Instagram.  Check out the post below:

“These things [usually] come in threes,” Hardy explained in a previous interview with Digital Spy. “If there’s going to be a new one – and they depend heavily on the success of each individual one, so you can’t count on them ever happening again – every one has got to be as if it was the last one. But I think it’s really important, if you go into something, thinking that one, two and three are the same… the same story, the same film. So that you don’t surprise yourself by being caught out by suddenly having to do a third from nowhere. There’s got to be some continuity into a third and fourth and fifth, and if somebody says ‘no’, that’s fine. Let it go, and you move on to something else.”

Talking about the creative team behind the threequel, there are some changes. Kelly Marcel (Fifty Shades of Grey), who wrote and produced the first two Venom movies will helm the threequel. In addition to Hardy, Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor are both joining the cast. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker will all produce alongside Marcel and Hardy.

Venom 3 will debut in theatres near you on November 8th, 2024.
