Agatha Harkness

Another show has been delayed amidst the ongoing strikes in Hollywood. The new Wandavision spinoff, starring Kathryn Hahn and  centers Agatha Harkness. Agatha: Coven of Chaos has also gone through another title change, that hopefully might be its final one. It is being said that these multiple title changes are taking place in a meta way suggesting that Agatha Harkness is up to something which is leading to all this chaos. If that is indeed the case, this is quite interesting and honestly, that makes sense. We do not expect the biggest studio in the world to be so indecisive, so maybe these title changes actually mean to boast off the chaos we’ll encounter in the show. Changes In Marvel’s Plans for Agatha

The changes in titles for the Agatha Show

Hollywood Reporter offers the news that Marvel has retitled the ever so anticipated Agatha show from Agatha: Coven of Chaos, to Agatha : Darkhold Diaries. The show had been previously named Agatha: House of Harkness. Darkhold Diaries has also been pushed to the last quarter of 2024, Marvel stated the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, along with its plans to make the release of its titles an event of sorts as some of the reasons for the delay.

While the plot of Darkhold Diaries has been mostly kept under wraps, from what we know, the show picks up from the events of Wandavision. In the show, Agatha, a powerful witch had been trapped in her “Agnes” persona — the one she assumes to be a nosy neighbor to Wanda and Vision in Westview. The show is supposed to premiere on Disney+, and is created by Jac Schaeffer. Having 9 episodes, the show has Hahn reprising her role as the protagonist along with a bunch of cast members from Wandavision. The show will also have Jo Rupp return as Sharon Davis/”Mrs. Hart” and Emma Caulfield Ford as Sarah Proctor/”Dottie Jones”. David Payton, David Lengel, Asif Ali, Amos Glick, Kate Forbes and Brian Brightman will also be returning to the show.

Aubrey Plaza

New important cast members include Joe Locke, who is rumored to be playing a young Billy Maximoff, Ali Ahn, Sasheer Zamata as the sorceress Jennifer Kale, and Aubrey Plaza, who is rumored to be playing Agatha’s love interest. Plaza recently praised the show, saying she had a lot of fun working on it, “I loved my character in that as well, and I think it’s the most elevated Marvel material that’s out there. So, it was cool to jump into that world with those people specifically. ”

Agatha: Darkhold Diaries sounds like it will manage to outweigh expectations, but fans will have to wait another year before seeing it on screen.
