The Killer is based on the French graphic novel of the same name, the film follows an assassin who “battles his employers, and himself, on an international manhunt he insists isn’t personal.” Michael Fassbender will star in the titular role and Sophie Charlotte, Tilda Swinton, Arliss Howard, Charles Parnell and Monique Ganderton. Fassbender has starred in numerous adaptations like Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Assassin’s Creed, a Steve Jobs biopic and the X-Men franchise. Although, the actor has not made a big screen appearance since 2019. This is also his first collaboration with David Fincher ever since his debut in Zack Snyder’s 300. The trailer for the film dropped a few days back and was received with overwhelming response. As it is a Netflix film, it would go on the platform directly. However, The Killer was already going to have a limited theatrical release and today we have a release date.

The Killer Has A New Theatrical Release Date!

Netflix has just announced that The Killer will release in limited theatres. Previously we were led to beleive that the film will come out in September. However, the new date makes so much more sense. The Killer will have a limited release from October 27th in select theatres. After which the film would debut on Netflix on November 10th.

Wondering why you should be excited about The Killer? For the director – David Fincher. Who is the Best Director Hollywood has working currently. As a student of cinema and fellow filmmaker, I firmly believe that when it comes to helming a film there is no one better at it than Fincher. The names I mentioned above and others are great but the expertise of Fincher is unmatched. The man has given us gems like Fight Club, Se7en, Zodiac, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network and one of the best TV shows ever – Mindhunter. Since Mank, Fincher has continued to produce the animated anthology series Love Death + Robots, even directing one episode (“Bad Travelling”). So, there is no reason to think that The Killer won’t be one of the best films of this decade.

The Killer will release in select theatres on October 27th and will start streaming on Netflix from November 10th.
