Castlevania debuted in 2017 and gained immense popularity and a huge fan base by presenting a dark fantasy tale full of complex characters, engaging subplots, and a lot of bloodshed. The show ended its 4 season run in 2021 and now 2 years later, we are getting a spin-off sequel called Castlevania: Nocturne which is all set to debut in a few hours. Based in France, 1792 during the height of the French Revolution, Nocturne will follow the exploits of Richter Belmont, the last descendant of the long-fabled family of vampire hunters. Just like Castlevania, this spin-off will also feature loads of vampires, monsters, hunters, and at the same time also tell us a bit more about the French Revolution era of history. Fans are quite excited for it and here’s exactly when it comes out and all we know about it!

Nocturne Plot, Characters, Dracula and More

The premise or plot synopsis for Castlevania: Nocturne reads – “France, 1792 – the height of the French Revolution. In a remote part of western France, the counter-revolutionary aristocracy has forged an alliance with a terrifying Vampire Messiah, who promises to ‘eat the sun’ and unleash an army of vampires and night creatures to crush the revolution and enslave humanity. Annette, a sorceress from the Caribbean, seeks out Richter Belmont, last descendant of the long-fabled family of vampire hunters, to lead the resistance.”

Aside from Edward Bluemel as Richter Belmont, Castelvania: Nocturne will feature, Pixie Davies as Maria Renard, a young revolutionary during the French Revolution, Thuso Mbedu as Annette, a young sorceress and ex-slave from the Caribbean, Nastassja Kinski as Tera, Sydney James Harcourt as Edouard, Zahn McClarnon as Olrox, Franka Potente as Erzsebet Báthory, a vampire queen, and Sophie Skelton as Julia Belmont, Richter’s mother along with Richard Dormer, Aaron Neil, and Elarica Johnson in undisclosed roles.

As for Dracula, while he was killed off in Castlevania Season 2, he was brought back at the end of Season 4. Being an immortal entity, he is bound be around and might even play an important part in the spin-off. Now in the games, Richter Belmont went toe to toe with Dracula and ended up defeating him and saving the day using the legendary sacred whip of the Belmonts – The Morning Star. So, we are hopeful that we might see Dracula in Castlevania: Nocturne. Same goes for Alucard, as he is also pretty much immortal and was a part of the game featuring Richter Belmont. Again, although the trailers didn’t reveal anything, we are hopeful we’ll see Alucard in the series as well.
