Unfortunately a lot about Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero has been leaked on the internet including the entire film, ever since it premiered in Japan. DBS: SH just debuted on 11th June 2022 in Japan and is set to debut 19th August 2022 in the US and worldwide. Obviously, fans like me are really excited and can’t wait to see what’s in store for Gohan and Piccolo, who are take the center stage in the film. It seems like the film is blowing past all expectations and has some major character moments. If you wish to receive some major spoilers, aside from the one in the title, only then proceed with this article.
Dragon Ball Super – Final Gohan / Gohan Blanco Transformation Explained
To defeat the Cell Max monster, Gohan achieves a new form called Final Gohan / Gohan Blanco with white hair and red eyes. In this form he emits a purple glow covered with lightening and a white aura. This badass and well deserved transformation looks like a love child of Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego. You can read all about it here along with his full leaked transformation video. Although, the transformation is unexplained, he’s one character who actually deserved to get stronger and unlock his hidden potential which was hyped ever since Dragon Ball Z debuted.
Since, Dragon Ball Z’s Android Saga Gohan had been pushing a lot which also helped him in obtaining the Super Saiyan 2 form, using which he defeated Cell. Later, he went on to train with the Supreme Kai and Grand Kai to achieve inner stability and unlock his potential. Unfortunately, we never saw his full potential unleashed as he was absorbed by Super Buu before he could do so, and then in Dragon Ball Super he retired from fighting. But he returned to fight in the Universe Survival Saga but again, we never saw his full potential unlocked.
So, in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero when he finally transformed to Final Gohan, it was nothing if not expected. Some viewers might think that his transformation is out of nowhere, but if you remember all the above mentioned points, it actually makes way more sense that Goku’s Ultra Instinct or Broly’s insane powerups in DBS: Broly. The White color scheme symbolizes the inner peace and potential Gohan has been wanting to achieve since the Buu saga. It also reflects the energy of Kai if you remember Dragon Ball Z’s Tournament Saga. That’s what seems like a reasonable explanation at this point and this transformation is surely related to the power of the Kais.
How Strong is Final Gohan / Gohan Blanco?
You might be thinking exactly how strong this transformation is. Well, the movie did nothing to explain that as Goku and Vegeta were absent from the majority of it. Had they been here, fans would have gotten a better idea as to how strong Final Gohan and Cell Max actually are. For now all we have is the past material to analyze his strength levels. Also, as reported by a viewers and fandom, the film takes place after the Galactic Patrol Arc/More Arc and sometime during the Granolah arc.
So, here it is. Final Gohan is definitely stronger than Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan Blue forms. Gohan went toe to toe with Goku Super Saiyan Blue in Dragon Ball Super and ily lost to SSJB x20 Kioken. So, obviously being much stronger now, he can take on Goku SSJB x20 Kioken and is possibly much stronger than that. However, he is surely not stronger than Ultra Instinct Goku or Ultra Ego Vegeta. Even though, he is quite powerful in this form, Final Gohan might still be no match to Goku in his UI form. Even if we consider Final Gohan’s energy to be that of the Kai, UI is a power that even Gods fail to master. The Kai are very powerful beings and we saw what Zamatsu achieved in Goku Black arc, but they are no match to the power of UI whose masters are the likes of Lord Beerus, Whis, and The Grand Master.
So, no Final Gohan is surely not more powerful than Goku, AS OF YET. “As of yet” is very important as if and when Final Gohan arrives to Manga and Anime, he might be way more powerful and could even save the day when Goku, Vegeta and the others fail to. Gohan surely deserves to be the most powerful mortal warrior but as of now it is still Vegeta in his Ultra Ego form.
