Directed by Pierre Coffin, who also returns as the iconic voice of the Minions, Minions and Monsters is the seventh installment in the Despicable Me franchise and the third standalone Minions film. Set before the events of the 2015 Minions movie, the story follows the lovable yellow troublemakers as they travel to Old Hollywood with one outrageous goal: creating their very own monster movie. The voice cast also includes Trey Parker, Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Bridges, Zoey Deutch, Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr.

When Is Minions & Monsters Coming to Digital?
Minions & Monsters will be available to buy or rent on Digital HD from major PVOD platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV (iTunes), Google Play, and Fandango at Home, beginning August 11, 2026. The premium digital release allows fans to watch the movie from home several months before its expected streaming debut on Peacock.
lu-ray and DVD Release Date
Universal Pictures has not officially confirmed the home video release, but Minions & Monsters is widely expected to arrive on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on November 24, 2026, following its July 1 theatrical release. Collectors can expect multiple physical editions, including:
- Standard Blu-ray + Digital Copy
- 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital Combo Pack
- DVD Edition
The 4K edition is expected to include Dolby Vision and HDR10 support, while all premium editions should come with a redeemable digital copy. Universal is also expected to include bonus features such as behind-the-scenes featurettes, deleted scenes, and filmmaker commentary, though the complete list of extras has yet to be officially announced.
When & Where Will Minions & Monsters Start Streaming?
Although Universal has not announced an official subscription streaming date, Minions & Monsters is expected to debut on Peacock in late October 2026. Universal’s recent animated releases have typically reached Peacock roughly three to four months after their theatrical debut, making late October the most likely window. Once available, subscribers will be able to stream the film as part of Peacock’s regular catalog.
Premiering at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival before its July 1, 2026 theatrical release, Minions & Monsters received positive reviews from critics and has grossed more than $420 million worldwide, becoming one of the biggest animated hits of 2026 and the highest-rated entry in the franchise since the original Despicable Me.
