Man of Steel (2013) starred Henry Cavill who has a huge cult following and was also highly profitable, so obviously a sequel was planned by DC. The original plan when the movie was in development was to create a Superman trilogy like Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. However, in the mean time considering the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Warner Bros. decided to change plans and start making a universe right away. So, they switched the Man of Steel sequel with a Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, so that they could introduce various superheroes of this universe like Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. However, the plan backfired as Dawn of Justice didn’t work out that well critically but it was once again profitable. After that I think we’re all aware of Justice League crisis of 2017.

How Snyder faced a personal tragedy and Whedon took over and ruined his vision, only for fans to erupt. After years of campaigning, fans got to see Snyder’s version of the Justice League. However, between everything that was happening, Warner Bros. forgot the very first thing they’d set out to do – a Superman trilogy. Fans have been craving for a sequel for years but that have received nothing but disappointment. Now, it looks like there is more to come as Henry Cavill has been officially sacked as Superman after announcing his return just last month after the initial eruption from fans, it seems like DC fans have moved on as they’ve found- might I say the perfect replacement of Henry Cavill as Superman?

New Superman In The House?

After DC sacked Henry Cavill as Superman just after getting him back for Black Adam and announcing his official return, the reason DC Co-Head James Gunn gave for this was that they had a new Superman storyline in mind which would be one of the first projects in their slate of DC movies, but at the storyline they’re choosing requires a young Superman Henry Cavill can’t play the character anymore. So, as fans have eventually calmed down based on the reason that Gunn gave fans have casted the perfect replacement for Henry Cavill in David Corenswet.

Honestly, I have not seen much of Corenswet except for this year’s Pearl in which his performance was quite good. Based on his physicality and his resemblance to Henry Cavill coupled with his powerful performance in Pearl, I’d say there is no harm in considering him for Superman’s role. All Superman seem to have agreed on this as Twitter is filled with tweets saying David Corenswet as the new Superman. Let’s take a look at some of those tweets:
