Ironheart Filming Begins, Confirms Anthony Ramos!

Filming for Ironheart is officially underway in Chicago, with the show’s top stars having either been spotted on set or have confirmed their involvement through social media posts. Dominique Thorne, who plays the titular superhero, was seen on set earlier this month, and Anthony Ramos confirmed on Monday that he has also begun shooting.

The series centres on Riri Williams (played by Thorne), a 15-year-old engineering prodigy enrolled at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who develops the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man and takes up the name Ironheart. The character has appeared in a few Marvel animated series, such as Marvel Rising and Spider-Man: Maximum Venom.

The Hamilton Star Shared His Thoughts On Ironheart

Ironheart star Anthony Ramos discussed the upcoming Disney show during an Instagram live stream. “We started shooting Marvel. Shit’s fire,” said Ramos. “Yesterday was my first day. It went well. Shit’s about to be crazy.”

Ramos’ popularity in Hollywood has soared in recent years as a result of his performance in the original cast for Broadway’s Hamilton. He played the lead role in In the Heights last year and will soon be seen in Paramount’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Although the actor’s role in Ironheart is yet to be revealed, fans speculate that he’ll be portraying The Hood, adding a touch of mysticism to the otherwise technologically driven series.

While it is unknown whether Ramos’ character will make his first appearance in Ironheart or another Marvel film, Thorne’s Riri Williams will undoubtedly make her debut in the next Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Alden Ehrenreich (Solo), Manny Montana (Good Girls), and newcomer Harper Anthony have also joined the cast in unspecified roles. While the series’ head writer will be Chinaka Hodge (Snowpiercer), the directors are Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes.

The streaming project has no official release date yet, although many think it will be included in Marvel Studios’ Disney+ slate for 2023.
