She Hulk Episode 8 Review – A Funny Daredevil?

Ok, so I am really struggling with how exactly I feel about this episode. So, Daredevil is funny now but honestly, not as funny as I expected him to be. His tone felt consistent with the Netflix version and one thing is for sure, Charlie Cox was, is and will always be the best Daredevil/Matt Murdock. He did crack a few too many jokes for Daredevil but it was on the same level as The Defenders and I have to say it was really cool. So, it seems like Marvel didn’t ruin Daredevil after-all. Not just that but they gave him a signature “Hallway Fight” sequence, before ruining it with She-Hulk Smash.

Anyways, the good thing is that they retained the elements we all loved about Netflix’ Daredevil and made him crack a few jokes just to fit in the tone of She-Hulk. Hence, for the first time in She-Hulk we saw moderation! Owing to this moderation nothing felt forced and the show did not feel like a joke. That is what they needed to do since episode 1 as no matter how funny you try to make it, moderation is always the key in superhero genre. The stunt choreography for Daredevil was on point and She-Hulk had a moment or two of her own as well. By the way, I am definitely not a fan of Jen and Matt romance, even thought their chemistry was great. But for me personally, it will always be Matt and Karen Page. Although Matt and Karen didn’t end up together in Season 3, they left hope for future seasons.

The Matt Murdock side of Charlie Cox was handled pretty good as well although I didn’t like how a stupid blind joke was the first line they made him say. But just when I thought they ruined him already, we were reminded of the Matt from Netflix by the passion and commitment he showed towards the case. For the time in She-Hulk, court proceedings didn’t feel like an outright joke. Also enjoyable, was the bar interaction between Matt and Jen where Matt basically asked Jen to be a lawyer by the day and vigilante by night.

But let’s not forget who’s show this actually is. She-Hulk once again received some cool character development as this time she decided to side with Matt instead of her client. That aside, the ending thickened the plot and now She-Hulk has hulked out in front of masses turning her into a danger for public. Guess she should have stayed with Bruce longer and learned to calm herself better. Anyways, now the stage is set for the season finale and for now, it seems like it’s She-Hulk vs the world. I am glad that we got at least two good episodes this season including this one and Episode 7. I hope the finale pays off the good work of the these two episodes and make She-Hulk, if not good, but a mediocre affair.

Final Verdict – She Hulk Episode 8 is without any doubt the best episode of the season and most of the credit for it goes to how well Daredevil was handled. Marvel knew fans were waiting for him, and they did them some level of justice, if not exactly what they wanted. A familiar Daredevil, crafty action sequences, and a worthy set up for finale make She-Hulk Episode 8 a redeeming episode. So, to answer the query the title of this article asks, it was surely “She-Hulk Saved”.

  1. The site dedicated into the destruction of She-Hulk and their mission to do so has succeeded by humiliating her in public
whereas Titania failed previously to say this trope has been exhausting for years now and now her reputation has been damaged it will take a long road of redemption this should have happened episodes ago but not this late towards the end of the season.

    1. That’s right. Maybe they should have led with that. The show is beyond redemption now without any doubt. I am just glad it didn’t ruin Daredevil and provided at least one good episode for all.
