Just when we thought Sony can’t do worse than Morbius, the studio has released Madame Web in theatres. A film that boasts an all out female cast but sadly no material. The film currently has an IMDb score of 3.7/10 and a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 12%. For comparison, Morbius has an IMDb score of 5.2/10 and a Rotten Tomatoes rating 15%. You really have to be special to beat Morbius’ critical scores. Naturally, these scores aren’t doing any favors for the film’s box office numbers as well. A film made on a budget of $80 million has only earned $91 million so far. I don’t think the film is going to do more business. Which is why we’ve gotten the film’s physical media release date so soon.

Madame Web Will Be Available For Purchase Soon!

According to a new listing on dvdreleasedates, Madame Web is all set to arrive for purchase on physical media formats like DVD and Blu-ray from April 30th, 2024. Surprisingly, there is no update on the film’s digital release date. For a film which is a certain box office bomb, it is surprising that Sony hasn’t set a digital debut just yet.

This is especially weird because physical media release dates are always revealed after a long time after the film’s online release date. What is Sony cooking with this film? I have no clue. However, I’m suspecting that since the DVD and Blu-ray release date has been revealed, the online debut of the film is also just around the corner.

The film stars Dakota Johnson, as well as fellow co-stars Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts and most recently Severance’s star Adam Scott. The film is to be directed by S.J. Clarkson and the screenplay of the film is written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, with a previous draft having been penned by Kerem Sanga.
