HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 filing has reportedly been delayed. After the release of The Last of Us Season 1 earlier in 2023, fans have been eager for the second season to arrive. Sadly, due to the strikes that occurred throughout this year, production of the second season has taken longer to get off of the ground than expected earlier. And while the first of 2024 was originally supposed to be when the production would start for Season 2, it now won’t begin until the following month.
The Last of Us Season 2 Filming Delay
The reason behind the delay of the show seems to be Pedro Pascal’s busy schedule. In recent months, Pascal has become one of the most in-demand actors and is poised to continue filming Gladiator 2 in January next year. He has also reportedly been cast as Mr. Fantastic or Reed Richards in Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four film. With so many projects at a single time, the actor had to shift things around to accommodate his schedule for HBO’s show.
According to MaxBliz, filming for TLOU Season 2 has shifted from beginning on January 7, 2024, and will now begin production on February 20, 2024. This filming information is said to come from the Directors Guild of Canada, the country where The Last of Us is primarily filmed. As for its end date, the second season is said to film until September 9, 2024. This suggests that the new slate of episodes of The Last of Us Season 2 won’t arrive until 2025.
