I don’t need to introduced Netflix’ Wednesday to you. It is one of the most famous TV show in the world as of now. What was once an old movie series called The Addams’ Family has been repackaged and retold by Tim Burton from one character’s POV and made it the young generation’s bread and butter. Netflix was quick to capture the expansive success of the series and renew for a second season, however, this happened in late 2022. It has been more than a year now and we have absolutely no clue when will the sequel season come out. Well, that wait ends today. We finally know when season two will come out and it will be a long wait.
Netflix’ Wednesday Season 2 Is Far Far Away!
Deadline reports that Wednesday Season 2 won’t premiere on Netflix until 2025. This is going to sting all the Wednesday fans a lot. Netflix also officially released its TV slate set to debut new seasons in 2024 and Wednesday wasn’t a part of it. This also means that 2025 is going to be a huge year for the streaming giant as Wednesday Season 2 and Stranger Things’ fifth and final season will debut then.
What is interesting is Stranger Things’ Season 4 and Wednesday’s debut season also came out in the same year – 2022. Another stat that won’t please Wednesday fans is that the second season of Wednesday will air three years after Season 1. The major reason for the show’s delay is obviously the Hollywood strikes that paralyzed Hollywood in the summer of 2023.
Tim Burton, the legendary creator behind the show revealed in an interview in September 2023, “No vacations or anything like that. We are starting to prep Season 2 of ‘Wednesday,’ which…has been exciting. Just developing new storylines and seeing where characters are going. Starting those conversations has been really, really fun. I think it’s going to be bigger and better, which is cool.”
The confirmed cast of Wednesday season two is Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Emma Myers, Isaac Ordonez, Hunter Doohan, Fred Armisen and Georgie Farmer. All eight episodes of Wednesday are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
