Marvel’s Wolverine Massive Gameplay Leaks Surface Online, Watch Here!

Now that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is here, gamers’ focus is already moving on towards what’s next. Wolverine is one such Marvel character who hasn’t had a good gaming run. While there have been a few Wolverine games over the years, they haven’t been particularly good and even so, the last one came out in 2009. Since then, we’ve seen the character only once as a side character in 2022’s Marvel’s Midnight Suns. So, in this modern era of gaming, it is about time we see a dedicated Wolverine game. As it happens, Insomniac has been working on Marvel’s Wolverine for a year or so now and it’s first teaser debuted back in 2021’s PlayStation Showcase. Since then, we’ve brought you a lot of unofficial updates and today’s update is about as official as it can get before Sony officially reveals more info.

Marvel’s Wolverine Gameplay Leaks Reveal Jean Grey and More!

Insomniac Games developers are now moving from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and onto Wolverine development in full swing. The tone of the game has been described as having a dark but emotional narrative with cutting-edge gameplay. As it happens, over a minute of early gameplay from Marvel’s Wolverine has been leaked online. So, first of all, check out the video attached below.

The leak is that of an early gameplay feature for Marvel’s Wolverine and was probably submitted for 2022 Animation review internally. Therefore, the gameplay isn’t refined and what we see is an early look of sorts with unfinished environment and character work. Anyways, the gameplay feels and look quite similar to the new God of War games and it is possible that the game will be semi-open world just like God of War was. A few days ago, we received a similar information stating Wolverine will not be open-world and would have fixed explorable paths like God of War.

Moving on to the characters, we of course see Logan in his cowboy outfit and hat like the trailer as well in his iconic yellow Wolverine suit. Jean Grey is heavily featured heavily in the gameplay leak. Apparently, she is going to be the secondary protagonist of the game and will be playable as seen in the leak. Other characters include:

• Sunfire who is apparently in a Tokyo section.
• Sinister who is Logan and Creed’s ‘adoptive father.’
• Sasquatch who escapes Sinister with Logan.
• Mystique who is married to Tyger Tyger in Madripoor and impersonating Bolivar Trask
• Jean and Leech who are a part of Callisto’s underground family in Brooklyn.

About the adventures, The Princess Bar (island of Madripoor) in the trailer hints that Logan may go on globe-trotting adventure, and nor restricted to Xavier’s Institute. Although it was earlier hinted that it would be a spin-off to the Marvel’ Spider-Man series, it is now said to be a stand-alone original universe like Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. Reportedly, Insomniac’s goal is to not only respect the DNA of what makes the Logan so popular, but also look for opportunities to make it feel fresh and truly reflect the Insomniac spirit. Also, considering the violent and bloody nature of the gameplay leaks, it will most likely have Mature Rating.

Furthermore, the Creative Director of the game has been revealed to be Brian Horton and the role of Game Director has been taken on by Cameron Christian. Horton has been credited with franchises like Spider-Man series, Call of Duty, and Tomb Raider while Christian served as the Game Director for SM: Miles Morales, Design Director for Marvel’s Spider-Man, and has been credited with franchises like Call of Duty, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. Next, we have update with PS4 owners will not like, but definitely saw it coming – Marvel’s Wolverine will be a PS5 exclusive with no intention of being remastered for old gen.
