Motor City is a 2025 American action thriller directed by Potsy Ponciroli and written by Chad St. John. The film stars Alan Ritchson, Ben Foster, Pablo Schreiber, Lionel Boyce and Shailene Woodley, with Ritchson playing John Miller, an ex-con who returns to 1977 Detroit seeking revenge against the gangster who framed him, stole his girlfriend and destroyed his life.
It premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in August 2025 before finally receiving its U.S. theatrical release on July 24, 2026. Motor City Digital Release Date
Motor City will be available to buy or rent digitally from major platforms including Amazon Video and iTunes on August 25, 2026. The digital release arrives only about a month after the film’s theatrical debut, allowing audiences who missed its limited theatrical run to experience the action thriller at home.
Blu-ray and DVD Release Date
An official Blu-ray and DVD release date has not yet been announced. However, IFC Films’ typical home entertainment schedule suggests that Motor City could arrive on physical media approximately two to three months after its digital and theatrical releases. Based on that window, the most likely Blu-ray and DVD release period is October or November 2026. A 4K Ultra HD release has not been confirmed at this time.
When Will Motor City Stream?
An official subscription streaming service and release date have also not been announced. Based on the typical distribution pattern for IFC Films titles, Motor City could make its subscription streaming debut roughly two to three months after its digital release. That puts the expected streaming window in late autumn 2026, although the eventual platform will depend on IFC’s licensing arrangements.
