Deadpool Deleted Scene From Marvel's Shang Chi

In today’s cinematic world, there is no doubt that MCU is a force to be reckoned with. Marvel’s Shang Chi was one such film which was a prime example of why and how the Marvel formula still works. Spiderman: No Way Home was the biggest Marvel film last year, but Shang Chi also had that likable and hype-worthy quality which we like to see in a Marvel film.

One such thing about Shang Chi was its ties to the larger Marvel universe which included Wong and Abomination cameos. You might remember seeing Abomination in an underworld ring fighting Wong. Wong had an extended cameo, though, as he appeared a few times later in the film as well. Within the same underworld, there was supposed to be another ring with another fan-favorite character.

Shang Chi Deleted Scene

Yes, you guessed right, it was Deadpool aka Wade Wilson portrayed by Ryan Reynolds. It has already been confirmed that Deadpool 3 is in under development where he will officially be made a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Deadpool is speculated to make his first cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But this could have been his second appearance if this scene wasn’t cut from Marvel’s Shang Chi.

In the image featured above was shared by senior Illustrator Andrew Kim from his work on Shang Chi. In the image, can see Deadpool going against a being which looks ridiculously like Proxima Midnight. You might remember Proxima Midnight from Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. She was a member of the Black Order (Children of Thanos). Another interesting thing to note here is that Iron Man wiped out everything that belonged to Thanos at the end of Endgame. Yet somehow it seems like Proxima Midnight survived.

Anyways, this could have been a mind blowing scene and we are no sure as to why it was cut. It seems like a nice short cameo which could even have been missed by many. But it seems like for now, we’ll have to wait a little more to see Reynold’s Deadpool in the MCU. If rumors are correct, that is just 2 months away, so hype up!
