Ahsoka Tano returns with a new series in Disney+. Rosario Dawson plays the titular character in Star Wars: Ahsoka. The show premiered on the streaming service on August 22. Star Wars; Ahsoka is the latest live-action series by the creative duo of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni from Lucasfilm. According to Samba TV, the show drew 1.2 million US households in the first six days of its debut in the first episode. In September 2022, Star Wars: Andor drew 1.2 million as well. Ahsoka is not the highest-performing premiere of Star Wars Disney+ shows with The Mandalorian Season 3 earning 1.7 million and Obi-Wan Kenobi earning 2.4 million.

Ahsoka is a follow-up after the events of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. So far, we have seen Ahsoka helping Luke Skywalker train Grogu and searching for Grand Admiral Thrawn. Ahsoka will now accompany Sabine Wren and Hera on her mission to track down Thrawn. Thrawn was last seen disappearing to the far space after a confrontation with Ezra Bridger.
Disney+ confirmed that Star Wars: Ahsoka will have eight episodes. The series is expected to have longer episodes than Star Wars: The Mandalorian.
“One thing Jon [Favreu] and I are very adamant about is we try to cut it down and strip it down to keep it moving. It’s definitely a faster and more intense rule than George [Lucas] has. My episodes have actually started pretty long, you know, because I wrote them all, so they are a little different. Probably, relative to other stuff that I’ve written and done, like the episode ‘The Jedi’. If it’s gotta be tight and fast because I need the action to work, it’s gonna be shorter, but I would say they are in the same range as The Mandalorian episodes…Maybe on average a little longer, but I honestly don’t know where they are right now, in the most recent cuts that I’ve done, but I would say it’s in the same range,” said Filoni to Collider.
