The world of The Witcher has seen quite a bit of expansion in the recent past. Since 2019, we have seen Netflix executing all their Witcher plans including the main web series, the anime “Nightmare of the Wolf”, and the spinoff “The Witcher: Blood Origin”. Also, just a few days ago, CDPR also announced a new Witcher game with Witcher 3 next gen update also coming up soon. But for now, the main event in the Witcher lore that fans are waiting for, is the Witcher Season 3. A few days ago, Henry Cavil revealed a Geralt’s new Roach and today we have a big update for you.
Witcher Season 3 Filming Begins
Earlier this week, Redanianintelligence reported that Henry Cavill and Freya Allan arrived to Kranjska Gora, Slovenia to prepare for production. That has now been confirmed as the filming has begun at Laghi di Fusine, Italy. They are pair of beautiful lakes which are quite close to the Slovenian border. Apparently, there was no filming done at Kranjska Gora as it basically acted as a resting point for the crew and the horses.
Not just that, we also have a rough filming schedule as reported by Redanian Intelligence, which is as follows:
- March 31 and April 1: Filming begins at Laghi di Fusine, Italy
- April 2 and 3: Transportation/weekend break
- April 4 and 5: Filming at the Predjama Castle
- Same week: Filming at the Nanos plateau
- Later: Croatia (somewhere around Pula and Krk Island)
These are some very beautiful locations, so we can expect Witcher season 3 to have stunning visuals and cinematography just like previous seasons. Producer Steve Gaub, who was quite busy scouting locations in Italy, Croatia and Slovenia, has also shared a mesmerizing picture from the Nanos peak.
