She Hulk Episode 3 Review – More of the Same

Honestly, I feel pretty tired writing this review as ugh nothing has improved! The best part of this series still remains Tatiana’s performance as both Jennifer Walters and She-Hulk. I am absolutely in love with this character and dislike absolutely everything else about this show including the writing, CGI, action, and the sheer absurdity of the show. The court proceedings showcased throughout the episode were a joke and totally ridiculous, however if you like that kind of comedy then my opinion doesn’t matter.

Same goes for the rest of the comedy show is trying to pull off, as I personally didn’t even grin throughout the episode. But again, everyone’s sense of humor is different and this is something which makes me cringe rather than laugh. So, leaving aside the comedy, let us talk about certain facts which are poor VFX, poor characters (aside from Jen), and poor writing. The CGI of the show still remains unimpressive and not smooth, and the plot of show still seems to have no particular direction. However, this episode did tap hype-nerves of some MCU stans owing to its cameos.

That Silly Wong Cameo

So, as per leaks Wong has some more role to play in She-Hulk but as of this episode, his cameo was quite silly. He has been turned to a full time gag by Marvel just like Drax and once again, there is nothing anyone can do about it. That said, this cameo did serve a purpose and he moved the episode forward by helping Blonsky as well as revealing the truth about his escape. Obviously, humans and laws can’t make the Sorcerer Supreme face consequences for his action, so he just vanishes. But yeah, he most probably will be back for some more action.

This leaves us with Blonsky’s extended cameo from Episode 3. Let’s call it a guest role instead of a cameo as he had significant role to play in the plot as well as Jen’s character development. Apart from Jen, Blonsky is probably the only character who I have enjoyed so far in this show. Just like Hulk, he too suffered from “the other guy” syndrome and just like Bruce, he also managed to unite the two personalities and reach the calm state of mind. That aside, he did tons of stuff to help people in the prison and that definitely is one of the best character redemption arcs in all of MCU. So that does count for something and it was the strongest point of She-Hulk so far. But yeah, I totally disliked the Asgardian con-woman subplot and that really brought this episode down.

Final Verdict – She Hulk Episode 3 successfully redeemed Abomination and helped in the development of its protagonist, however, it ultimately failed due to a ridiculous subplot, bad writing, and unimpressive technical elements.
