Ms. Marvel Episode 2 Premise

Ms. Marvel Episode 1 Review - The Premiere was Worth The Wait

Ms.Marvel episode 2 improves on the pilot and delves more into Kamala’s balancing of super powers and family life. The story also introduces Kamala’s boy crush and high school senior Kamran, played by Rish Shah. The plot thickens with his character into the fray and Kamala trying to master her new super powers, while also trying to struggle with a vision of a mysterious woman related to her family.

What is Good?

The direction of this episode is stellar. The episode is deftly crafted with interesting twists and turns. The Islamic cultural representation in this episode is very well done, while the plot gets more groovy with interesting twists and turns. Especially the final reveal of the episode is stunning. The VFX of the show is topnotch and virbant with great colors. The cast is fantastic, especially the supporting actors who played the roles of Kamala’s classmates. The show also has impressive set pieces and hits the notes of having one action heavy visual block of all MCU series on Disney Plus.

What could have better?

Kamala trying to master her powers could have been explained in a much better way instead of a small montage. It feels rushed on how Kamala mastered those kind of powers in such a short time. The writing is clever but at times goes into predictable territory. Honestly, some scenes with Kamala and her best friend Bruno can give viewers a deja vu feel from Spiderman Homecoming films, where Peter and Ned’s friendship had the same vibes.
