Why would you do that to us?! If you have seen this week’s episode of Better Call Saul, you know what I am talking about. If you haven’t, then I’d like to say two things to you. Firstly, what exactly is stopping you from watching this gem of a show on time? Secondly, the article follows massive spoilers for Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 12, which brings forth a well placed return of Kim Wexler as well as Jesse Pinkman. BCS has been on a roll and delivered back to back incredible and twisted episodes and this episode blows past even that long list. Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 12 – Kim Wexler Returns

Goddamn, Rhea Seehorn is just a wonderful actor that not giving her an Emmy would be an insult to art. She nailed every scene this season including every scene in this episode. Her acting range is incredible and her performance is one of the most humane performances I have seen on screen. I just loved each and every sequence of future Kim, especially her breakdown in the bus and her telephone interaction with Gene / Jimmy / Saul. And of course, how can we not talk about the Aaron Paul Jesse Pinkman cameo in the episode!

Kim Wexler in the present aka Breaking Bad timeline finalizes the paperwork for her divorce with Saul and while exiting his office, she encounters Emilio Koyama and Jesse Pinkman. It is a fun cameo which brought back the Jesse we adored and the only thing missing was probably his catchphrase “bitch”. Anyways, that aside, Kim had a lot to do in this episode and one of those things was telling Cheryl the truth about Howard. That helped her clear parts of her guilty conscience and she seems ready to face the consequences of her past actions. But honestly, viewers have bigger things to worry about now owing to that cliffhanger ending of this Better Call Saul episode.

Saul Goodman the “Con-man” in “Albuquerque”

As it happens, Gene aka Saul’s plan of breaking into the house of “the cancer guy” was flawed since the ending of last episode and he will now face the repercussions. With the help of a lot of luck, he succeeded in breaking out of the victim’s house but destiny came for him in a different way. Jeff’s mother has finally identified Gene by just typing in “Conman” and “Albuquerque”. She stood up to him and even after threats from Saul, she called for help and identified him as Saul Goodman out loud.

Unfortunate for us, the episode ended on this massive cliffhanger but it is all closing up now. The symbolism of “colored Better Call Saul advertisement” on black and white Gene’s glasses, makes it clear that the timeline is about to become whole pretty soon. The camerawork, and sound design of this episode was incredible as well, just like rest of the series. But what truly stands out this episode, is the mind-numbing performance by Rhea Seehorn.

Final Verdict – Better Call Saul season 6 episode 12 further elevates the quality of the show and sets the stage for the final showdown in some nerve-raking final moments. Kudos to Rhea Seehorn for never once delivering a stale Kim Wexler moment on the show!

  1. I cried along with her on the tram. That was too real. I love her. She didn’t deserve to go down the way she did.
